Help me PLEASE!!
I'm a fairly new-comer to lisp.

We are using large scale reference design at our site and I have
many thousands of files that contain all manners of nested XRefs.
We have decided that for the sake of dependable results in our
drawings and to prevent circular attachments we don't want ANY
XRef "Attachments" in any of our files. When I'm done we want
to have nothing but "Overlays" that are soft pathed. For XRef
path resolution we are going to depend heavily on the PROJECTNAME
variable (really nice feature, but it needs to have NT system
variable support for overall flexibility).

1. Does anybody out there have any experience with detaching (or modifying)
and re-attaching XRefs as "Overlays" while saving the previous XRef layer
settings? I can find the XRefs and all their info, determine if they are
"Overlays" or not, and I think I've also found a way to determine if it's
nested or not and who the parent is. I tried substituting revised info into
the block but it seems to have no affect. I really need help on this one.

2. To make life easier for the users I would, very much, like to be able
to set the defaults in the XRef attachment panel so it always comes up
with "Overlay" selected and no path included. It seems to me this should
be included in the user settings because of the detrimental impact this has
had on our project. It's very easy for the user to forget.

Thanks much, in advance, for any help someone can give,
