We have frequently problems with AutoCAD (r14.01)
that the movement of the crosshairs is verry slow.
I mean so slow that we cant work properly anymore.

At the moment:
If i turn osnap off, my crosshairs move normaly over the screen,
but when i turn osnap into "endpoint" i get the problem described as above.
I also tried restarting my computer, but it did not work.
The strange thing is, that this does not happen always.
There is no way i can tell because of what this happens.

Could dis have to do with the network or With windows NT (r4.0) ??????
Does anyone have experienced a problem like this before ??????

Please help

Are you xrefing large files or using a large number of xrefs?

Are you using TrueType fonts (either in the current drawing or in
XRef's)?

One of my friends had the same problem with huge files. He added memory to
his computer (he has now 64 Mo RAM) and solved his problem. If there are
many disk accesses, i think that it is the problem.

when the display list is huge, it slows the process of recognition of
snaps..
You can reduce the size of the display list by:
* Setting viewres to a reasonnable value (100 up to 500)
* avoid using linetypes other than continuous, and setting them just before
plotting
* freeze any unneeded layer (instead of only turning it off)
* setting proper limits for your drawing.
if you're comfortable with french, take a tour to:
http://synapse-informatique.hypermart.net/dossier_technique.htm to see how
display list acts.

Hope this will help.
