Kent:

It appears that the program may be having a problem with your fault file - I
don't there is a quick easy fix short of going back and recreating faults,
re-building your surface data.

inserting points, inserting segements" processing at bottom of display then
stops.

You may have some vertical faces in your surface......

I've found that I get The "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation
Exception at 78010710h" message if I use the lengthen command on a polyline
(either the old polyline or the new lightweight ones). If you've edited your
fault lines and tried to redefine them, this will probably throw a wrench in
the works. I've contacted AutoDesk about this polyline-lengthen bug and all
they had to say is "don't use lengthen to edit your polyline". Those of you
using AutoCAD 2000 beware, I don't think they fixed this bug for you either.
Good luck and if all else fails, write your faults out to a file and
reimport them next time it fatals out on you. Also, keep in mind that 2
faults over each other (duplicates) will cause conflicts also.
