Has anyone discovered a workable method for creating a coordinate file
output for the SDR 33 using S8? Our clients were able to do this in
S7.5, however the new Survey Link program will not convert an ASCII
coordinate file directly to Sokkia SDR 33 coordinate format. Any
suggestions are appreciated. Thank you,

From the 8.02 readme.txt:

Uploading points to an SDR 33:

You can upload points from the COGO point database to the SDR33 data
collector with the Survey Link DC by first exporting the desired
points to a PNEZD ASCII file format.

1. First, create the export file: COGO>[Points]>[Import/Export
Points]>[Export Points to File]>Format Name: PNEZD with a COMMA
delimiter. The file name should have a file extension of .AUF.
Note the Directory the file is created in. Select the desired
points from the options listed at the command line. If the
points to be uploaded have no elevations, use -99999 as an
invalid elevation. -99999 is uploaded to the SDR as a NULL
elevation.

2. Upload the AUF Coordinate File to the SDR33 Data Collector:
Survey>[Collect]>[Data Collection Link]>[Transfer]>[Send File].
Under the Output section of the dialogue box set Send Output
to: SDR 33 Data Collector. In the File Type section of the
dialogue set the File type: to Autodesk as Num 4 or Autodesk
as Alpha14. Click on the Choose File button and select the .AUF
file created above, type an Output File Name if you want a file
name in the data collector different from the file name you
selected. Select Comms Input on the SDR 33 and click the Send
button. A units dialogue will display verify the correct unit
settings and click OK. You may have to go into Setup and change
the Flow Control to XOn/XOff. Remember to change the Flow
Control back to Hardware before attempting to download.

MORE Information: If you want to save a coordinate file in SDR format
to upload with another coms program simply toggle on the Save
SDR File button and enter a file name. The SDR file is saved
when the send button is clicked. A data collector need to not
be connected to use this feature.
