Hello,
I am scanning paint samples for paint colors. I am having a problem getting
them to look right (shade etc.) It seems that my scanner does not scan the
colors correct or something. Does anybody have a good method for scanning
materials.

I've been thru this and it is a futile effort. There are too many variables
involved to expect good color all the way thru to print time or some one
elses monitor. things will never be the same as the chip. I just try my best
to get the chips to match at the time of printing. I don't bother to scan
the color chips any more. I just use them a visual refererence.

I'll second that. Lighting has such a strong effect on the color (as it
does in reality) that it seems the best you can do is to render the scene
and make your best judgement.
