How to close the previous tab without the use of "Select Tab" or "Switch to Previous Tab"?

there seems to be no direct option to close the previous tab. 
there are all these options 

but no option to close the previous one. the only way to do so seems to be  
is there any way to close the tab directly without using the switch to previous tab & select tab?

In the second example you showed, there's no need for the Select tabs action. The "Apply to" field indicates what tabs the action will be applied to.

So, just do this:
