I added the registry key but the page on Chrome web store still shows the same message. Clearing the browser cache has no effect.

Update: after a browser update to 133.0.6943.127, the web store page now looks like:

Yes, the yellow warning is expected. Google announced that on June 2025 all "Manifest V2" extensions will be removed from the store. Hopefully we'll be able to migrate to MV3 before that.

Yes, a new version of AutoControl, compatible with MV3, is being developed, but it's uncertain when it will be completed as it requires a complete re-engineering of the source code.

Regarding non-windows support, the situation is not auspicious. A few years ago there was an attempt to port the native component to other OSs (Linux and Mac). Unfortunately, we discovered that those OSs lack the necessary mechanisms (system calls) to implement AutoControl's functionality with ease. Due to this, the implementation cost would be significantly higher.

Given those challenges and the modest popularity of the extension, we decided to put that effort on hold.

In the reviews, I saw a user who was unhappy that there are no preset actions in the extension after installation. It's quite complicated for beginners, maybe it would be worth adding the most popular actions? For example, I would be willing to share my settings automatically (optional, disabled by default, but with a post-installation prompt).

Weird. Now all works, including the host process AutoCtrl_2025.4.22.0.exe in task manager:)

The last error message in console was "Unchecked runtime.lastError: Error when communicating with the native messaging host"

Also two toolbar buttons work. I hope they will be also updated to mv3.

It will be disabled, just ignore the warning and re-enable it.

No changes in Chrome required.

Yep. But mv2 is removed in Canari. When the current version of Canary becomes a release, the extension will not work:(
