If you'd like to upgrade the OEM door speakers, fix a faulty switch, add soundproofing material, or replace a power window motor in your 2nd generation Chevy Silverado 1500 truck, you'll first need to take off the interior door panels. To view my DIY guide for the procedure, click on the link below.

Here's the instructions page - http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/GM-Chevrolet-Silverado-Interior-Door-Panel-Removal-Guide/index.html

The steps should be the same or similar for the Silverado 2500, 3500 and GMC Sierra.

Cheers,

Thanks for the great guide.  I have a 2013 silverado crew cab and I love it, but the one thing I do not like is the vertical door handles/pulls on the driver and passenger doors that stick out from the armrests.  My knees are constantly bumping them, and long rides are a nightmare.  Are you aware of any other door panel styles that can replace the factory ones?  I've heard that some parts for silverados, avalanche, suburbans, etc, are interchangeable.  I know some of those door panels for various model styles do not have the vertical door handle/pull.

You're very welcome. :)

I know that a lot of the GM door panels are very similar, but I'm not sure if they would be interchangeable.

I wish I could be more help. I would ask some body shop workers if they knew the answer.
