If the A/C system in your 2nd generation "KK" Chrysler platform 2008-2012 Jeep Liberty isn't blowing as hard or smell so fresh any more, you may need to clean or replace the A/C system's two cabin air filter elements. To view my picture illustrated guide to this procedure, click on the text link below.

Here's the DIY page - http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/Jeep-Liberty-HVAC-Cabin-Air-Filters-Replacement-Guide/index.html

The procedure should be the same or similar for other related vehicles such as the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee and the Dodge Nitro.

Cheers,
Paul

Hey there,
I have a 2008 Jeep Liberty Ltd, and my glove compartment is not the same. I have heard that it could be like the grand cherokee of those years, which requires removing the plastic plate below the windshield wipers on the outside of the car.
Do you have any insight regarding this? I've attached a pic of my interior behind the glove compartment.

Hi Kreig,

Did you ever get any feedback on your question in regards to the location of the cabin's air filter in your 2008 Liberty? I have the same model and I can't locate the cabin's filter behind the glove compartment, in fact I think there isn't one in that location. Thanks.

Hello Kreig or Franco, I have a nasty cabin smell in my 2008 Jeep Liberty. I was told that I should try and change the cabin filter. I bought the filters ,but upon installation I discovered that my car also does not have the access door inside the glove box as described.  Have either of you two found out where the location is on this type of 08 Liberty. I would greatly appreciate an answer if you know. Thanks for any info you can provide . Dana  PS I don't know if it is a coincidence , put I just had my AC compressor change out by the dealership about 3 months ago. Any help by anyone would greatly appreciated
