[Family Support Team]

Family Support Team are facilitating the Care for Caring Parents
program at Brighton for Term 1. The Care for Caring Parents program
has been prepared to assist parents / carers of children with
disabilities to develop their inner resources. The program provides
both education and support around To register you must be a member of
Autism Qld.

Throughout the program parents / carers are encouraged to focus on:
- Personal growth and personal coping resources Identifying
strengths,
- Affirming self-esteem and increasing sense of control
- Developing skills such as assertiveness, problem-solving,
negotiation and advocacy
- Increasing knowledge of community resources
- Developing networks of support in the community

Where : Autism Education & Therapy Centre, 136 North Road, Brighton
Time : 10am—12pm
Day : Thursday
Dates : Feb 17th, 24th, Mar 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st, Apr 7th,
14th.
Bring : Morning tea to share
Cost : $35 (to cover cost of a parent book and handouts)

This is the only time it will be offered at Brighton this year so
please contact us as soon as possible if you are interested. The next
program will be offered at Sunnybank in Term 3.
