ATF skin in WPF

Hi,
we are using ATF on a VR physically based real time application for a couple of week now.
We are struggling to modify the skin of our WPF application using ATF in a proper way.
Is there anybody that can explain us how to use the AppearanceService to modify the look & feel of our application?
By the way, do you have the dark skin for WPF or a converter?

The Mahapps Metro comes with a very good dark skin.
