Good morning Dear
Is it good to change the language in you reference in order to be in accordance with the journal instructions? For instance the journal ask you to write the paper in British English but in your reference some paper cited were written in American english, so can you change the language for those papers in your list of the reference?
Thanks

Daniel,
You should contact the journal. Ideally, you shouldn´t change the language because this will keep readers from finding the references on the web. Remember, the purpose of references is so readers can easily find what you've cited and to validate what you are writing by referring to documented evidence. Try translating a reference and then looking for it on the web. You might find it and you might not. I know that some journals specifically ask that references be translated.
