Re-importing a Word document and duplicate topics

I have a Word document that I want to update and re-import to AIT on a regular basis.

The Import profile is set to create new topics for a certain style and put the new topics in a certain book.

Problem: When I re-import the doc, it overwrites the existing topics, but it puts the same topic objects into the book again. So I have multiple instances of the same topic object in the book.

Is there a way to prevent the duplicate topics?

Hi Shira,

 

I don’t understand why you would be re-importing over and over again, but you can just turn off the topics it is overriding from importing.....(deselect them in the import wizard).

Thanks Miriam.

The topics in the Word doc are updated so I want them to override the existing topics in the book. The issue is that the same topic (with the same topic id) appears multiple times in the book.
