Cannot get Authlogic + Rails 3.0 + RSpec 2 to work

I cannot seem to get Authlogic + Rails 3.0 + RSpec 2 to work. I think
I've followed all the documented steps, but running a controller spec
in which I try to login a user with `UserSession.create` results in a
mysterious exception. I've put up a minimal test case at
https://github.com/FooBarWidget/authlogic_rails3_rspec2_test#readme
with detailed explanations. Can anybody tell me what's wrong with this
test case?
