With the delivery by Santa of the Sukhoi SU-27's and 30MK's bought
with the tsunami money the Indonesian AF now has
more advanced aircraft than the Australia Defence Forces' FB-111 and
F-18 or the
American F-18 and F-14. Add to that the Russian S-300 missile system
which was
specfically designed to take out the American and Australian -F111's
and air superiority and what next?
Don't knock the possibility of an Indonesian Invasion. They're a take
all and give nothing back nation. They could easily in the end support
their Islamic brothers and push their way into North Western Australia
which is largely unoccupied. The United Nations probably wouldn't help
us either. Their attitude would be, well, you have the bottom half and
they can have the top half. It's not as silly as it sounds, just take
a look at the S**tfight in Papua at the moment and thats really all
over land takeover for minerals and resources. They need the room and
don't care how they get it.
There are probably more Indonesian troops on leave at the moment than
we have personell in our three services. Someday Indonesia will need
more room, especiallly as their birthrate is much higher than ours.
Australia will be much more attractive than anywhere to their North,
so down here is going to look most attractive.
Australia would be an easy mark. All Indonesia would need to do is to
get a foothold, then in come the UN and the whittling down process
could begin. 'Poor Fella, My Country'.
