Hey all and Happy New Year!

Rolling on from the momentum of last year, let's build up QGIS AU with events and more of what you want!

Hold on, what DO you want?

We are running a high level strategy meeting next week if you are interested in being involved. Let me know by reply email.

Or

Just tell us what you want and we will put that up in the meeting.

All the best!

Cheers
Em

Thanks Emma and to all in the group,

More of an observation/question than a want as this platform is working well I think. I noticed there is a place for local chapters on https://discourse.osgeo.org/ . Would this possibility be a place this group be moved to? I'm not sure if there would be advantages etc.
Best Regards
David

Hi David

Thanks for the link - I will definitely propose whether we take it up - at the moment we have the following channels
- Bluesky
- this email list

How many people on the email list would use it rather than this email list?

Kind regards
Em

Hi Em,

I think what I want is less frequent LTR as they seem to pop out every month and frankly it is a constant hustle to update especially if you are not a systems administrator, so I have to get permission every time.

Cheers

Hi Iain
The LTR is regularly updated, but you don't need to update to the latest - if you want to remove the notifications for it, you can disable the `Check QGIS version at start-up` in the General Settings/Application section.

Otherwise, if you would like it to update in the background, you can talk to your IT dept to see if they would be interested. I am not sure what is involved, but if you are interested, this is something we can put on our resources page.

Kind regards
Em
