Loading STAC images problem

Happy new year fellow QGIS-ers,

I am trying to load some STAC images via the QGIS browser but running into a problem when the URL has many  items (~1200 in this case). The Browser shows the first 20 images but not the rest! Unfortunately there appears to be no way to filter with the basic Browser connection. While there is a STAC plugin that has filtering capability, it does not appear to be supported in the LTR or more recent QGIS versions as it spits the dummy. 

Other than loading an older QGIS version, does anyone have any suggestions? Am I missing something? Should this issue be listed for an upgrade?
