G'day fellow Geo Nerds,
A brief hello, I'm not a GIS professional to speak of but have had reason to dabble in it for many years. I started in the Defence Force with some Arc ported software. Then worked in Laos doing UXO clearance where I was taught ArcGIS to map clearance work. On returning to Australia in 2009, I started working in Hyperbaric Medicine, and after a while saw that the data we had could be sanitised and used to produce maps of where and what our patients where being treated for plus other information. Not having access to ArcGIS, and being a long term Mac user, I discovered QGIS. I only scratch the surface of what it is capable of doing, and could probably make the data sing a lot more but that is what learning is.
Love using the program as it is so powerful, but not overly complicated to understand. Stumbled on the Aussie group while watching the webinar, so look forward to diving in a bit deeper.
