QuickOSM problem

I am trying to use the QuickOSM plugin to extract data from OSM

 

I keep getting this error message:

I have no idea what this all means. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin but still get the same error. It is a fairly simple plugin and I seem to be doing what the instructional videos on YouTube are doing .

 

I tried to search the QGIS-User archive to see if this issue recurs but it is impossible to effectively search.

 

Has anyone any help to offer?

Hi Iain, my guess would be to uninstall the plugin, and also delete the QuickOSM subfolder in your profile folder (C:\\Users\\IainS\\AppData\\Roaming\\QGIS\\QGIS3\\profiles\\default\\QuickOSM) before reinstalling.

I just tried it and uninstalling the plugin doesn't automatically remove that folder.

Hello Iain 

What it probably means is that you've a temporary file cached under the same name in the directory stated.

Either delete that or specify another location to write the extracted file to.

Well I tried deleting all the files and reinstalling the plugin but I still get the same error.
