How to get bulk volume folio for parcel data victoria

Gudday. Does anyone have tips to get current volume folio data for land parcel polygons in Victoria. I can get SPI and lot/plan from Vicmap Property REST data, or from cadastral data extraction but the cheaper way to get titles is with volume folio. I can't find a source for volume folio. Could anyone help?

Hi All,

 

I have downloaded a DEM file (DEM1_SAR_DTE_30_20110105T210045_20130403T211102_ADS_000000_4mAu_d0fc94f8.DEM) from the ESA Copernicus website) but QGID says it can’t open it. Any suggestions?

Hello.,

Yes, either as text 'VOLUME 12345 FOLIO 012' or separate columns for volume, then folio.

Hello Grant, 

I just had a look at the Copernicus website and it's easy to get lost in all the different data products they have.  

It also appears that there are QGIS plugins that access some of this data.  So one option is to try and open the file you already have, another option is to download via a different service in a format ready to use by QGIS. 

Would it be easy for you to provide a link to the actual page where you downloaded the file?  It might give us context on the data type/format.

I have tried opening the file in QGIS via the raster option. I have tried a couple of options but they all seem to have the DEM file extension.

 

I will shoot you through the page link, but you may need to be registered to see it.

I managed to navigate into the webpage and do a file search that produced the same files.  Used these options in case anyone else wants to try:

But yeah, had to register to attempt downloading any data. Then bumped into a message saying that it takes 1 business day to finalise the registration process and start accessing the data....

I'll wait a bit and give it another go.

I think I can download to DTM data from “Open Topography” QGIS plug-in without problems, so will try that.

For me it's a little game of geo-babushka dolls:

Download product from Copernicus browser as a zipfile.

It extracts to a folder named [download_name].DEM

Inside that folder is... another folder!

Inside that folder is a set of XML files and yet another folder! Opening that folder gets you to even more folders. One of them is named 'DEM'.

In the DEM folder is a geotiff DEM :D

...which loads as expected.

So, using "|->" to represent a new directory:

[download name[.DEM.zip

unzip to [download_name].DEM

     |-> [download_name]

           |-> Copernicus_DSM_[tile_info]

                |-> DEM

                      |-> Copernicus_DSM_[tile_info].tif

I can confirm Copernicus activated my account in one day. 

I just downloaded one of the files and followed Adam's method - it was quick and opened the file ok - see snapshot below.

My PC (Win10) saw longfilename.DEM as a folder in regular windows explorer - you can see it in the snapshot I sent earlier.

These ridiculously long folder names with dots in them and multiple nested levels to get to your file are not the most friendly file naming standard I've seen tbh.
