My colleague and I have encoutered some issues with map editing using this version of QGIS LTR, we were modifying LEP Land zone layer from a on-premise SQL database table, and have found it is extremetly slow to work with when you try to zoom in and out and moving nodes, snapping nodes with DCDB cadastre layers for example, it is getting unworkable.

So we have gone back to QGIS 3.16 LTR and it is a lot more quicker and easier with same type of map editing tasks.

Just wondering did anyone else encoutered similar issues and what solution have you applied.

Thanks and Regards!

Don't know about specific differences between versions / LTRs, but sounds like two things;
- snapping is defaulted to on for all layers in the new version
- you have a very big polygon (or two) in your zoning layer. Which might be getting treated differently somehow between versions.

Thanks for your reply, Bill.

We have checked snapping settings, was only two layers on at the time of editing.

Yes it is a big polygon due to big subdivision work, but it is within the scale of our LGA, it is one of our rountine tasks daily, my colleague has been using QGIS for 4 or 5 years and never had that type of issues until in QGIS 3.28 LTR.

So I don't believe that the size of the polygon should be the problem.

Hopefully QGIS developers will notice this type of issues if it has been reported and be able to provide a fix.
