Hi all,

I was impressed with the 'new' ABC election map, rolled out this year. Most of this huge land is empty, so we have some national electorates (seats, divisions) that are 100 to ~1000 larger than others. On the usual map of Aus, my electorate is a red dot! So it's hard to see The Big Picture.

Each electorate below is now equally sized and they roughly align to represent the physical map of Aus per se.  Colours = Party.

Is something like this - below - possible in QGIS, maybe with programming...or would it have to be done By Hand? Ta!

I agree, David. There's a great example in this election in "Where the election will be won and lost — or maybe left hanging".
I suspect less to do with mapping software and more with programming the data behind a hexagon collection.

I know a couple of the team involved, so I will ask around.

cheers
