Hi John
It seems very broad - multi country, multi-institution, so would be keen to know how it can benefit help our specific situation before diving into the survey?

Cheers
Andrew

*HelloI’m writing to you on behalf of the QGIS Trainer Network which was
established during last year’s FOSS4GE meeting in Mostar,
Bosnia-Herzegovina. We are reaching out to all the national QGIS user
groups regarding a survey which has been approved by the QGIS PSC.During
several online meetings, we developed a survey which is designed to explore
the opportunities and challenges of using open source GIS in the public
sector. The aim of the survey is to gather information and needs from
open-source GIS users, primarily representatives of universities and public
administration. The results will be used to develop teaching standards, best
practices, syllabi and educational materials tailored to practical
needs.******************************************************************************************International
QGIS User Survey for public sector representativesWe invite public sector
representatives to participate in an international survey on the needs and
challenges in teaching and working with QGIS.The aim of the survey is to
gather information and needs from open-source GIS users, primarily
representatives of universities and public administration. The results will
be used to develop teaching standards, best practices, syllabus and
educational materials tailored to practical needs. The results will be
presented during the QGIS User Conference 2026 in Laax, Switzerland
(October 5-6, 2026).Your voices shape the future of open-source GIS

Hi Andrew, good question.

If there's enough Australian input, the results might give us insight into specific challenges faced by QGIS/open source GIS users in Aus institutions.

Maybe we'd get more direct value from a locally developed survey, but presumably some of our local challenges are also happening in other countries, so maybe worthwhile participating in the international survey for a broader perspective.

Up to you of course :)

Cheers
John
