Scale bar in main map window

Hi there, 

Does anyone know if there is a way to add a scale bar to the main map view of QGIS?  I know it can be done in layouts, but I refer to the regular/main map view of QGIS.  

I wonder if something similar to the scale bar displayed at the lower left corner in Google Earth is possible.  It would be very useful for every day analysis of data - which gets done in this window.

Hi Juan.

Yeah you need to use "Decorations" under the "View" menu. You can change the style and the location of where it appears.

PS.  It looks like that 'size' parameter refers to the minimum size it can take?
