Hi folks,

Just found this group, hope this is okay to ask! I'm a PhD student with limited QGIS experience, and am aiming well beyond my capacities...

I want to make individual layers of, say, shadehouses, from ABARES NLUM raster data (https://www.agriculture.gov.au/abares/aclump/land-use/land-use-of-australia-2010-11-to-2020-21) which is a single band dataset. As per the screenshot, each label in the legend corresponds to multiple values, which I think is making it tricky.

I've tried variants of "your_raster@1" >= 2 AND "your_raster@1" <= 69 in the Raster Calculator as the shadehouses cover values from 2 to 69, and it throws up error messages and failed maps each time. If anyone has ideas on how to get these separated out (or useful resources/tutorials), please let me know!

Thank you,

Hi Jessica

I just took a few minutes to look at this using data found here:

https://www.agriculture.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/NLUM_v7_250_INPUTS_2020_21_geo_package_20241128.zip

The "value" column in your screenshot doesn't appear to match numbers stored in the raster (min value 12, max 140910 - viewable by double clicking the layer and scrolling through its properties)

Maybe reach out to ABARES and ask what pixel values in the raster correspond to the classification values? I didn't see any mapping table in a 5min metadata scan. I was looking for something like a table showing which pixel values are assigned a given classification numerical value.

Just hoping to help avoid tearing your hair out at QGIS or the data - your approach is the intuitive one, there's something else going on with the data.

HTH
