Hi all,
Very amateur QGIS user here, completely self taught by trial and error.  Most questions I see asked in this group I don't even understand.  I just use QGIS to produce maps for rogaining in South Australia, drawing from a large data set of shapefiles/layers that I don't even know where we originally got them from.  I have in the data set a layer that is providing me with spot heights,

I have added the layer ok, and I can see that it has data in the attributes table for elevation. It is displaying spotheights on my emerging map, but not the actual elevation.

So how do I get the Elevation data to display next to the spot height?  I'm sure QGIS can do it, because it can do nearly everything!  It's just trying to find out which icon/menu/tick box for the first time that drives me nearly insane...

Any help appreciated.  I'm sure someone can tell me how to do this in just a few clicks...

Example of the type of map I produce is here:

Regards,
Doug

Hi Doug,

You need to enable labels for the layer and select the elevation field to display the values.

Cheers Grant

Hi Doug

I love that you are using QGIS for your hobby/sport.

For other QGIS courses, here are some good resources:
I hope this helps.
