Isabella Manfredi’s izzi is her debut effort as a solo artist after her time with indie pop/rock outfit The Preatures.

This is a truly joyful album for a project which is so steeped in themes of power, independence and taking control.

The opening track “Seasons Change” sets the tone and sends the message: It’s a new era with a new sound for Manfredi — one she says is more authentic, all-encompassing and representative of her as an artist.

Isabella Manfredi says she wants people to feel wrapped in her music as the “kaleidoscopic”, “technicolour” and “colourful” sound unfolds across izzi’s ten tracks.

The album also sets the steep task of attempting to sound like Bruce Springsteen if he was in an all-girl group in the early 2000s.

Somehow, it does all of these things and more, marking Manfredi’s return to storytelling.
