Hi CLT Colleagues and Friends

Thanks so much to those who responded to the Bellingen Shire Council consultation on the possible transfer of Council owned land to Waterfall Way CLT, which closed on 28 March.

The consultation result was fantastic. 280 responses in a Shire our size is really impressive – with 214 in support, 7 unsure and 57 against.

There were 30 supportive responses from outside of the Bellingen Shire LGA which was great – very reassuring for the Councillors to know that this is bigger than just us.

The Council unanimously supported a motion based on the recommendation in the attached paper – for those interested in the detail. The next step is that they start direct negotiations with us on the transfer of the land, based on the steps outlined in previous legal advice.

Fingers crossed in a few years this will be common place across Australia 😊
