We have had an amazing response to our online action asking people to make submissions on the WA Government’s draft energy blueprint, but the submission period is closing in just three days!
Please take action now to support a renewable energy future for WA! Or forward this email to your friends if you have already sent your submission.
Over 800 people have already added their name and personal comments to our standard submission calling for a renewable energy future in WA so far. Last week I spoke with the WA Office of Energy and they had never received so many submissions on anything before!
You and I know that WA has the potential to be a world leader in renewable energy with our vast available resources of solar, wind, wave and underground hot rocks. So you can imagine our disappointment when we realised the State Government's draft energy plan for the next 20 years contains no serious policies to support renewable energy, and instead promotes coal and coal seam gas – two of the most polluting forms of energy available.
Luckily, this shocking plan is still a draft and we have a chance to change it, but if we do not begin the transition to renewable energy now, then we will miss out on the global renewable energy boom, and we will be locked into a new generation of polluting fossil fuels for the next 20 years
We have made it easy for you to send a submission to the WA Office of Energy and Energy Minister Peter Collier telling them that you support a renewable energy future for WA, not more polluting coal and fossil fuels. Sending your submission is as easy as typing your name, or you can add your own personal comments to Minister Collier if you wish.
