Lots of flowers on many of the large plants in my garden . The Alocasia portei has lots , and the amount of pollen produced makes it easy to collect .
I shook a flower over my hand , and the pile looked to be about a teaspoon ! Using my long dirty thumbnail , I cut a hile in the base of a A.x postodora flower
and then just blew the pollen in .. I was surprised to see that it has worked , just checked and I can see green berries forming .
A few weeks previous I pollinated a A.calidoea with portei pollen as well ,, this time using my finger , as there was not as much pollen to play with .
I also just potted on the seedlings from the self pollination of the calidora ,, some had nice little tubers . One was a ‘Pixie’s Teardrops form .
I still have another compot to do . Some of the seeds got shared around , I would like to hear how they did . Bet the ones in Darwin are big .
