ROCKCLIMBING 25 December 2008 - Lead fall/fractured ankle, Shipley
Upper cliff, Blue Mountains NSW
A female climber was leading a moderate sport climb near the south-
western end of the Shipley Upper cliff at Blackheath when she fell,
striking a ledge on the way. She was lowered to the ground and
rescue
authorities alerted. NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and
diagnosed
a fractured ankle. The injured climber was evacuated to hospital by
ambulance helicopter.
