Dear Climate trackers,
Wow! Lots of exciting stuff to report to you in this update, a bunch of new content is up on the Adopt A Negotiator site. And more will follow next week when the latest round of UN climate talks kick off in Barcelona on Monday 2 November. But first things first.
Update from the Bangkok UN climate talks
The latest round of UN climate negotiations that were held in Bangkok earlier this month delivered much of the same. There was some good progress made on some of the smaller issues, but we are still lacking real leadership and ambition on the two key areas which will make or break a global outcome in Copenhagen this December:
• Strong emission reduction targets from developed countries
• An international fund to support developing countries to adapt to the impacts of climate change they are already facing, and support to help them reduce their emissions.

October 24th Day of Action
I am sure you’ll agree was incredibly inspiring. I was privileged enough to be part of the creation of the giant ‘3’ on the steps of the Sydney Opera House. I made a short video clip to try and capture the vibe and the voices from the day, check it out here.
Upcoming UN negotiations, GET INVOLVED!
Next week, from November 2, the next round of UN climate negotiations will take place in Barcelona. We’ll have our brand new Australian negotiator tracker Phil Ireland on the ground to bring you the news as it happens. I’ll be taking on board a greater domestic role from now on, organising on ground campaigning focused on Copenhagen here in Australia.
Remember during the week long talks in Barcelona, leave Phil your comments, questions and thoughts concerns. He’ll be able to take them direct to the Australian delegation. And, what’s more, we know the delegation read the blogs, so make sure your voice is heard!
