Hi all,
Just had a look at the Satellite Imagery from the  BOM. I noticed that there are areas of pinky brown on the beds of Lakes Eyre and Frome in Northern South Australia. I assume that they are areas of flood water from the recent rains and maybe flood water from Western Queensland that have started to reach Lake Eyre.
Preparing for the cold snap!
Cheers
Gavin

Hi Gavin,

Here's some false-colour imagery from the Sentinel-2 program showing the influx of water in Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre in January, and its subsequent consolidation to the southern end of the basin. https://anero.id/shared/S2L2A-984434658248851-timelapse.mp4

You can inspect the imagery for yourself, along with corresponding true-colour imagery, at https://sentinelshare.page.link/khV6.

Another great tool for keeping track of these sorts of things using low orbit satellite imagery is https://worldview.earthdata.nasa.gov/.
