Ragasa's still looking very menacing as it continues heading west, though it's currently forecast to start losing a bit of intensity as it does so. It was a supertyphoon over the last couple or so days with an almost perfect eye.

Hi Ken,
My sister in law who lives in Aringay,La Union to the West of Baguio, told us that they were experiencing typhoon conditions with torrential rains and high winds. The eye is located well north of her location but it shows the huge width of the damaging impact of the storm. The islands in the Luzon Strait are no strangers to Super Typhoons but I would expect major damage to houses and infrastructure. A remarkable increase in activity after a very quiet period in both the North West Pacific and Atlantic regions.
Gavin.

We'll probably get data eventually via PAGASA (local equivalent of the Bureau), but not for a while.
