Getting absolutely belted here this month with repeated severe thunderstorm outbreaks, which have included giant 10 to 14cm hail that's wreaked destruction, as well as locally destructive winds.

In fact, the savage hailstorms here over the last few days have been declared an insurance catastrophe by The Insurance Council of Australia.

Some social media content from the last couple of days (the last two photos are mine from yesterday):

Hi Ken,
I was wondering how you are weathering the storms up your way. I sighted a massive storm cell north of us this afternoon. Radar showed it located to the west of Lake George. Also had a look at Brisbane Radar tonight. Looks like you are being hammered again!
Very breezy down here in Canberra this Spring with BOM warning us of damaging winds tomorrow.
Take care,

Gavin

Hi Ken.

These pictures absolutely blow my mind. Seen some large hail before but nothing like that. Amazing !!!!

You'd get killed if one of those hit you.

Regards Bussy
