This morning Sydney had 20.8 mm – the 10th day out of the last 14 with 20 mm or more (including the last 5) and the 14 days out of 24 with 10 mm or more. This is easily the most ever in a month in the 2nd half of the year. However, the following table of consecutive wet days are quire common.

Sydney has now had 1370.8 mm of the year so far – around 150 mm above its ANNUAL average already. Even if the next 4 months have just average rainfall this year’s total will end up the 2nd wettest year in the last 35 years.
So far in August Sydney has had 389.6 - the 3rd wettest August in 165 years.
Top rain in the all of Australia this month is Randwick (in Sydney’s east) with 438 mm, just ahead of Norah Head and Careys Peak (in Barrington Tops) each with 435 mm while Cronulla and Long Reff in Sydney’s coast have had 413 mm, arounding out 400 mm+ fallss.

Not sure where your 10 out of 14 comes from (I have 7 out of 14, and 9 for the month). 9 days with 20+ mm and 13 with 10+ mm are both records for the second half of the year, as Don says. (Records for any month are 11 and 15 respectively).
It's highly unlikely there will be any more 10+ days in the rest of the month.
