I wouldn't have thought four simultaneous named systems in the Northern Hemisphere would be that unusual at this time of year? (which is peak season for them).
As some will have seen, it's been a notably inactive season in the North Atlantic, and a well-above average one in the Northeast and Northwest Pacific (although impacts to date have been modest compared with some years).
