Sydney is still running more than a month ahead of its previous wettest year-to-date on record (although the next week looks relatively dry). Would not need May-December to be too far above average to get the wettest year on record.

The  1^st  4 months  of  2022  have  broken many  rainfall records  in  Sydney -  with a detailed  data  set  going  back of  160 years.
