Hurricane Ida

For anyone interested, Jeff Masters has put up a good rundown on Hurricane Ida that's currently headed towards the US Gulf Coast. Of note is the possible storm surge hazard (as shown by NOAA's storm surge modelling on the page), heavy rains and the chance of the ubiquitous hurricane-associated tornadoes... but only if increasing shear and cooler waters don't weaken it too much:
