Hi Everyone
This afternoon, a storm that looked like it was going to be nothing much, brought torrential rain to the Pittwater area and "rather interesting wind".  The torrential rain missed our street only giving us 8mm in total.

There was minor flooding in Newport and Avalon, many trees down and even more broken off about 2 - 3 metres from the ground and many houses with roof damage.  We got home to find minor damage to some of our bonsai plants and our neighbours TV aerial snapped and hanging by the wires.

We managed to find a storm track through Church Point from near the bus turning circle all the way to the High School.  Though the road bends around and the damaged area was more or less in a straight line and not really good for pictures most of the way.  However we could see where it went because of the damage trail.

The picture shows a flattened Lexus however there were 4 or 5 more cars under all that tree litter.  All the cars had been damaged.

By the time we got up there all the side streets where the damage was, were filled up with Fire Engines both NSW and RFS.

We watched the storm from Mona Vale Headland.  The wind was strong enough to rock the Patrol around.  I believe that the wind was tornadic from the damage we saw, perhaps someone can confirm that.  We saw the surface of the sea respond to its passing but with no evidence of a water spout.

It is now hot and humid again, hot enough for some towels to dry out in the last hour, just brought them inside.

Now there is another distant rumble.............  are we going to be lucky again.  I wonder.
Judy

Hi All
We had to go back through the area of Friday's storm on Saturday afternoon.

We found that there were still many SES and Electricity trucks working through that area in Church Point.

I guess that a lot of people will or will not be happy with their new open views.

The piles of broken trees are growing on the roadside.
Judy
