Greetings trails advocates,
Several items for you.
First, I'll be making a very short presentation before the City Council subcommittee for Land Use and Transportation this coming Monday from 3-5 pm at City Hall. In my estimated five minutes, I'll the importance of long distance and interconnected trails, bike lanes/routes and sidewalks and mention our priority trails list (repeated below), the importance of public easements negotiated by the city and the need for a trails division. In other words, I'll highlight our current priorities and underscore all of the volunteer efforts that continue through all of our organizations and interest groups.
As a remainder, all trails would be routed along park or water quality land or along public right of way or city negotiated public easements.
Second, its time for another meeting. George Cofer of Hill Country Conservancy wants to give us an important update on their Walk for A Day project and I know that others will have items of interest. We hoping that folks can meet on Monday, Feb 18th from 4:30 to 6 pm, with the fall back date being Wed, Feb 20th from 4:30 to 6 pm.
Please let me know if you can make it on Mon Feb 18th at 4:30 and if not, on Wed. We'll try and find an easy to get to location. If you have agenda items or updates, please send them to me as well, so I can add them to the list.
Third, keep It's My Park! Day on April 12th in mind for a great day to get volunteers out working on a trail. We'll have a number of trail projects on that day. General info here:
