Where are we now? Where do we want to go?
Martin - formalize Austin's presence in innovative ways to create
social good through entrepreneurship - platform for action.
5 - 10 years
self-renewing communities, best NPOs
Way to engage or capture ideas to help turn into businesses. Lots of
good ideas, but where is support. How to take entreperneurs and
surround them with help.
Social enterprise incubation
Overlap of resources, needs a hub or connecting piece. Alongside
incubator.
Vehicle to empower people, catalyst to find their passions, connecting
people, idea of co-working, a physical space.
Evolve to epicenter for social innovation in the US.
Actually able to measure and demonstrate that disparity gap is closing
and in some ways because of social innovation activities.
Massive agent of change - definition of successful business includes a
social component.

Well developed ecosystem - organization?
Funding side - can Texas compete in funding of these ideas. like NY
and Northern Cal?
Create sense of urgency. State demographics in education are not good.

Conclusion -
some confusion around purpose, overarching goals, structure. Most
people had not had a chance to check out the proposals posted online
by James around these issues.
The leadership team will take this input and come up with more
orgranized format. Please contact James Norris or Martin Montero or

discussion will be around formalizing purpose for group and discussing
