What is an "adopter"?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with that term.

Kim,

A park adopter is a person or group that commits to caring for a park or park area. For example, Friends of Turkey Creek, Friends of Redbud Isle. It's an informal group - no bylaws required - but it does carry some high expectations in terms of providing leadership for park users and communication with the Parks Dept. If you'd like to find out more, consider attending. You can also review some limited information at www.austinparks.org/adopt.html
