Town Lake Animal Center offers class to help Austinites identify and report Animal Cruelty

Vet helping a sweet beagleStart your New Year with a commitment to a humane community! Consider enrolling in the City’s free “Identifying and Reporting Animal Cruelty” class.

Animal Cruelty continues to be an important issue in our community. Last year in Austin, there were 469 animal cruelty cases investigated.

Neglect and cruelty towards animals are often indicators of other things awry: domestic violence, elder abuse, child neglect, hording, etc. If you are able to recognize and report animal abuse, you can help prevent cruelty from spreading throughout your community.

Because Animal Control’s resources and staff are limited, we need to enlist the assistance of the entire community in protecting its animals from abuse, harm and neglect. If you’re interested in taking a class, sign up today.
