1. The District of Austin?
From ABC13 in Houston,
November 18:
“...[A] bill, proposed by Republican lawmaker Jared Patterson, would get rid of the city of Austin. If the bill gets passed, it would turn the city into the ‘district of Austin,’ meaning the local government would report any new actions directly to Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan…”
Thanks to Texas LP member Amanda Gibbs, who posted this item on the LPTexas Discord.
In related news, early voting for the runoff in the Austin mayoral race between
Kirk Watson and
Celia Israel, will run from December 1 to December 9, with Election Day on December 13.

Libertarian Party of Travis County
Holiday Party
Monday, December 12
6:45 - 9:00 p.m.
Casa Chapala, 9041 Research Blvd., Austin
Currently, LPTravis plans to have a holiday party on the date of our next regularly-scheduled meeting, namely, December 12.
As of now, we expect to have the party at Casa Chapala as usual. We are tentatively planning to have a White Elephant gift exchange, and possibly a charity donation opportunity. (For example, last year we collected food donations for the Capital Area Food Bank.)
If you have ideas for this holiday party, now is the time to send them in to
LPTra...@gmail.com or to LPTravis Chair Ted Brown at
tedbro...@hotmail.com.

5. What is a libertarian?
Some say libertarians are "plotting to take over the world and leave you alone."

Tomasz Kaye has created four excellent animations, "
George ought to help" (4 min.), "

You can always leave" (11.5 min.), and “
