1. Why Tippetts fights

Mark Tippetts, Libertarian for Governor, recorded a message on September 16.

“I am constantly asked, ‘Against insurmountable odds and knowing you cannot win, why do you even run?’ The Libertarian Party itself was started 50 years ago. But libertarianism and libertarian values is what this country was founded on. To me, libertarianism is a way of life. It is your values, your principles, your actions, your deeds…”

See Mark’s two-minute message for Texas voters.

Meet Mark in Austin (Sept. 24), San Antonio (Sept. 24), and New Braunfels (Sept. 25).

3. Libertarian candidates news

David Roberson (Libertarian for State Rep., District 49) posted a picture from our September 12 business meeting which featured Libertarian National Committee Chair Angela McArdle.

Dan McCarthy and Ted Brown, Libertarians for State Representative, Districts 48 and 50 respectively, greeted “a very friendly crowd” at Texas NORML’s Puff ‘n’ Putt event at Willie Nelson’s golf course in Spicewood yesterday. Photo 1. Photo 2. Also working in the booth: Girish Altekar.

Steven Haskett, Libertarian for Texas Senate, District 14, has a new website. Follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

Wes Benedict, campaign manager for Mark Tippetts, Libertarian for Governor, is looking for volunteers to place door hangers in their neighborhoods.

Wes has also helpfully provided instructions on “How to install a small yard sign,” which is much more challenging than you might initially expect. Must see!

8. What is a libertarian?

Some say libertarians are "plotting to take over the world and leave you alone."

This 2-minute video from Learn Liberty tells "Free Will and Human Dignity: A Love Story."

"The Conversation" is a 13-minute dramatization from the Foundation for Harmony and Prosperity.

Read this short commentary from Leonard E. Read (written in 1955): "In an ideal America." Mr. Read also composed the classic essay, “I, Pencil” in 1958.

Take this short (10 question) online quiz from the Advocates for Self-Government to see if you might have libertarian leanings: “The World’s Smallest Political Quiz.

“The whole aim of practical politics is to keep
the populace alarmed–and hence clamorous to
be led to safety–by menacing it with an endless
series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.”

H.L. Mencken
