About Pragathi
‘Pragathi’, a registered tax-exempt non-profit organization, was established in 2004 in Austin with a mission to improve basic educational opportunities and to address the illiteracy problem in India. Ever since, Pragathi has been actively involved in adopting primary and middle schools in rural Karnataka to improve reading and math skills. Working with reputable non-governmental organizations in India and focusing mainly on remedial learning and a few infrastructural projects, Pragathi’s impact has touched over 1,500 schools over the last 10 years and served nearly 41,000 children. Today, Pragathi is very proud to see significant progress in reading and math skills.
Pragathi also supports an organization called Odanadi and helps in rescuing girls from trafficking, prostitution, violence and abuse.
