Hello dancers!
Just a reminder: Lannaya Drum & Dance Ensemble is holding open dancer auditions on Sunday!
When: Sunday, January 13 at 6pm
Where: Austin Dance Collective, 2015 East Riverside Ave, Austin. (Behind Emo’s East—next to Mud Puppies—go through the iron gates & courtyard.)
What: West African dance experience preferred but not necessary. In the audition, dancers will learn choreography to a West African rhythm and be asked to perform it alongside others to live drumming. You should also be prepared to solo dance alongside the drums. You will be evaluated on timing, memory, accuracy/execution of step, style, and overall aesthetic.
What to Bring: Please bring a photo of yourself.
What to Wear: Please bring a water bottle and wear a lapa or appropriate dance wear. We primarily dance barefoot.
