Okay so Dylan is actually sleeping all the way through the night (from
8pm-5 or 6 am) instead of waking up at 11 or 12 pm to nurse again. We
use cloth diapers (bumGenius) and it was soaked all the way through
this morning. I guess I could add another insert but that would make
the diaper huge. Does anyone else wake up the baby to change them or
just let it go? We use the hemp/cotton inserts especially at night
since they are supposed to absorb more. If you have suggestions of
other diapers or whatever works I would appreciate it. Diaper rash has
been bad the last day or so because of the constant poops (isn't this
also associated with teething? see below) So baby boy is hanging out
naked from the waist down all day today :D

Also, I am pretty sure we are teething here. Got a nice bump on the
bottom gums in the front that keeps getting larger in addition to much
more drooling and chewing on anything. This ought to make nursing
fun.....

I had the same problem when Julian started sleeping through the night, too.  We're using cloth diapers from Austin Diaper Service, and although it makes it really bulky, we put a folded up diaper in the front of his regular diaper--with a cover on top of that!  We actually use the BumGenius pocket diapers as covers, too (adds that extra little bit of absorption, plus they're cute and super-duper easy to deal with) so you can just imagine how big LittleBird's butt looks when we're finished.  HA!  But oh well, it keeps him dry and happy, and as long as I can still get the PJs on over it I don't really care.  That's what those doublers are made for anyway.
Teeth!!!  Wow.  I've got a close eye on JBird's bottom gums, too...there's some bumps there, although nothing major.  But he's been drooling and chewing like there's no tomorrow for the last week or so.  The other day Jesse had him facing forward in the BabyHawk and he was gnawing on his wrist, unbeknownst to his poppa; when Jesse noticed he came into the kitchen to me, all concerned because Julian had been chewing for so long that his wrist was bright red and (what Jesse thought was) swollen.  I had to remind him that babies are just chubby, including their puffy little wrists :o)  Pretty cute, though.
I don't know about the increased poops being associated with teething...?  Tell me more about that.  Julian has gone down to once a day or even every other day, and booooy, they're doozies!

The gym is almost finished!!  I'll let you guys know when the Mommy Circuit Training will be starting....

Hope all is well :o)  Enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday!

With my youngest, we do a disposable at night. He's a really heavy
wetter and I hated having him wake in the middle of the night (or wake
me) just because he was soaked. I tried layering inserts, different
inserts, different cloth brands, etc. Nothing worked. I figured one
sposie wasn't too bad in the grand scheme of things.

Thanks! Melia good to see you!! I think we have to use a sposie at
night. Poor kid looked more bowlegged than ever by the time I got all
the inserts in his diaper :-( plus his pj's didn't fit!

Here's another suggestion:

What kind of cloth diapers did you say you were using?  BumGenius, right?  Something else you might like to try is our method, which I know I've already explained, but to recap: use a regular cloth diaper folded into thirds, then clip a cloth diaper over that--with the folded one right in the front.  Then put your BumGenius on as a cover.  The only place that's going to be super bulky is the very front, but we've never had trouble getting the diaper to snap over it--although Dylan is bigger than Julian, so it might be different for you.  I promise, though, no leak-throughs with this method, even if he sleeps all night.  I'd just try to leave disposables as a last resort only, if only for financial reasons!
