Each year, a bunch of friends, mostly from VC drive to the Shiner Brewery.
We leave the cars there and ride back to Austin. The next day, we ride back
and then drive home. The ride starts a few blocks from the bear cave.
I am a blind cyclist. I am looking for someone to pilot one of my many
tandems. Gender does not matter. I have two road tandems, one to fit you.:)
I even have a very large vintage, fixed gear/single-speed, if you are
feeling particularly macho or simplistic. Or, I have a recumbent, if you are
feeling particularly laid back and aerodynamic.
The rides will take place on Sept 5 and 6.
Tandem experience is not necessary, though fitness to ride a century and
group riding skills are highly recommended.
We have two weeks to get you up to speed and fit comfortably in the driver
seat. I have been riding tandems for 11 seasons and know how to get you
dialed in. If you are interested in only riding one leg, that is fine.
I will most likely have transportation for us and the bike.
I imagine we will average around 17-19 mph, depending on the wind. There is
usually about 20-30 in the group. No admission, no tee-shirt, and about
two-three store stops as needed.
Please feel free to forward this note to other lists.
Best,
Ron & the We'll ride with almost anyone bears
